NHELPA yearly normal activity saw a change this year where cervical screening was added. In addition to that we did our normal diabetes, hypertension, eye screening. And breast cancer screening with health talk on the above health issues. This was in mile4 Nkwen to be precise in trust care clinic. Before the 22rd we did our best to obtain all our legal documents needed to carry on with the activities. We had some few challenges from the administrative bottleneck in which we overcame them .

Our health professionals all answered present especially those who travelled from long distances. We seized this opportunity to give them a special thanks for their sacrifices for humanity.

Thirty women were screened for cervical cancer and out of 30 two came out positive and were all referred to Mezam Polyclinic for proper follow up same number was screen for the breast cancer and luckily enough no abnormalities were recorded.

As for the eye a total of 56 patients were received and screened. 16 males, 40 females out of this number one diagnosed with cataract and five other people diagnosed with glaucoma while five had conjunctivitis the rest of 45 patients had normal eye vision. All the patients had the age range between 10 to 60years. All those who were diagnosed with eye problems were refereed to Mbigo Annex Bamenda for proper follow up and treatment.

For diabetes screening we received and screened fifty patients among fifty we had 7 cases for prediabetes health education was given on diabetes on what to eat and what to avoid.

Sixty patients were screened for hypertension and sixteen had a value of above 160 systolic and diastolic of more than 95 they were advice on the importance of taking their medications and exercising regularly.
